Hello and thank you for using the JA website. Please remember that this site is intended to provide general legal information only.Have you filed any complaints yet or requested your money in writing?
I need to know where is the best place to file...i was told the manager does not qualified at labor department for complaint....i did not make the request in writing but will. i called but never got an answer.
I'm not sure whom told you that you couldn't file a complaint. As long as you were a W2 employee, you can file a complaint with the NY Dept of Labor. Here is their link:http://www.labor.ny.gov/workerprotection/laborstandards/workprot/lshmpg.shtmYou can also hire an attorney in your area and file a civil lawsuit against your former employer to recover the wages due to you. Please let me know if this has answered your question.
