How do i get bad information off of my Credit Record that wasn't supposed to be there in the first place? The wrong person got sued. I was not the one, but the bad information still ended up on my record.

(at least this is what i think they said, i couldn't understand the personn on the other end of the phone, and he refused to let me talk to someone who could speak better english.
Thank you for using Just Answer.Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act the reporting agencies are legally obligated to remove inaccurate information from your report.You need to write a letter to the reporting agency with copies of the evidence showing you were sued erroneously. Send it via certified mail and the company has 90 days to investigate and respond. If they fail to take action you can complain to the FTC at www.ftc.gov.
