Approx. four to five months ago my husband and I agreed for a company out of Ca. to help us on a modified mortgage loan to reduce our mortgage note from 1075.00 to approx 254.00 to 320.00. We have been unable to contact them my phone on email for approx. one to two months now. We have no way of tracking them down. Their email address did work for a little time. What can we do to truely find out if this company is a fraud or not? (Advocates for Consumer Affairs from West Los Angeles, Ca.)From Pauline S.Purvis, MS
Hi,My name is XXXXX XXXXX X'X be happy to answer your questions today. I'm sorry to hear that this happened. We have recently implemented a new rating and feedback system. Please be aware that you are rating my courtesy and service as a professional, and not necessarily whether you like the information that you are receiving. If you have any questions whatsoever, or there is anything I can clarify for you, please temporarily bypass the rating system by clicking “Continue the Conversation” or "Reply" Clicking either of the lowest two options reflects poorly on me (and not whether the law favored your situation), so please reply to me if there is anything else I can do to help before choosing those options. I appreciate your patience while we work out the kinks.I'm sorry to have to say this, but it looks like you were scammed. This company has an F rating with the Better Business Bureau. Their "address" is a UPS Store (which is one of the #1 signs of scam companies, these days). The BBB has 10 complaints since January, the company did not respond to any of them, and the Federal Trade Commission has issued a restraining order against the company and is suing them.http://www.la.bbb.org/business-reviews/Loan-Modifications-Advance-Fee/Advocates-for-Consumer-Affairs-in-Los-Angeles-CA-100111159To join the action and file a complaint, contact the FTC at 1-877-FTC-HELP (1-877-382-4357) or use their online complaint form.https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/Please remember to rate my response before signing out, as this is the only way that I get credit for the time I spend helping you. I hope that you are satisfied - if not, please click "reply" so that we may continue the conversation.Lucy, Esq.41086.6262805903
