hi, i bid for something at an auction site and it is in another state. after i got it, i realized it's going to take a lot of money to bring it to where i live. I haven't paid for it yet and would like to back out of it. the products are pretty expensive. i had to put a small deposit down before i could bid for any products. i will be losing this deposit. my question is if i do not pay for this, do i have 3 days to back out? and would i be running into any prob. in the future? i don't want to run into any legal issues. they do have my license #. thanks.
If the website is like most of the other auction websites in the fine print that you agree to when you sign up for an account it states that a contract is formed when the auction ends and if they choose to pursue it then you could be liable for any damages just as in any other breach of contract action.Thank you for allowing me to assist you. As you know, we work on the honor system here and cannot always provide you answers that you like but I believe I have answered all of the questions you asked.I believe in giving information that is to the point, but please remember that I can only base our answers on the information you provide and sometimes a misunderstanding as to what you are looking for or already know occurs so feel free to ask additional questions or for clarifications. Be very careful about looking at other internet sites that just post generic information without any inquiry into your facts because often those answers are dated, wrong, or wrong as applied to your facts. so if they take legal action, which state would it be in? my state or where the products were at? thanks
The most likely venue is where the products are located. There is an argument they should sue you where you are located but since they get to choose where to file then it is likely they will sue you where the products are.Thank you for allowing me to assist you.
