Your obligations are governed by the funding agreement, meaning the lender is not under any legal duty to accept partial payments or settle the account for less than the full amount owed. That is lousy, no arguments here, please believe me, but it is the truth. If you believe the lender is not acting lawfully, however, you should file a consumer complaint: Office of the Attorney General of Florida. There is no charge to you for doing so.
