Resolved Question:

The law allows that evidence is allowable for oral contracts to be proven in court. However, you cannot use it to enforce a promise for the sale of real estate.

This is in regards XXXXX XXXXX magazine subscription scam where they got a verbal yes through high pressure sales--Is this verbal contract enforceable in the state of Indiana?
Expert:  skelly151 replied 6 years ago.
Did they record it? If yes if it is exorbitant fees then refuse to pay them and contact your state attorney general to file a complaint because it sure sounds like they are running a scam.
Customer: replied 6 years ago.
Yes they recorded it and it works out to be $700 for 5 magazines over 3 years. Do we have a law in Indiana that verbal contracts are enforceable?
Expert:  skelly151 replied 6 years ago.
Oh my that is ridiculous and it is a scam. Report them immediately. Oral contracts are enforceable but companies like this cannot take advantage in such a way. The attorney general will help you get them off your back.
