I was wondering on a 1987 Cat 416 there is oil leaking from the Brake Acuator Shaft I was wondering what would be involved in fixing this
JA: What is the complete model and serial number of your machine?
Customer: All I know is that it is a 87 Cat 416 and I believe the serial number is *****

Hello,

I hope this does not find you too late to be helpful.

All that is needed is to remove the brake control linkages on the axle housing and to replace the seals.

You will need to remove the adjuster nut and may have some trouble with seized pins but, it is a fairly simple job and parts are not too expensive.
