Does it have now power or a check engine light that comes on?

If the engine has good power and no check engine lights. I would suspect the injectors are causing the smoke. I've seen this many times.
As injectors wear, the small holes in the injector tips get larger. When this happens, the fuel droplets will be larger and not burn as they should. This in turn will cause black smokePlease reply back if you need more help or have more questions. I am happy to assist.
