Hi Larry, What is your serial number? What seal went? the duocone seal between the motor and gearbox or one of the hydraulic motor seals?

Expert:  Dan replied 9 months ago.

Whats the full model and serial number?

Customer: replied 9 months ago.
Serial number is ***** The oil leaks out of what I think of as the "right front corner" between the hydraulic motor and the track sprocket. I am a farmer in Iowa.
Customer: replied 9 months ago.
I guess you will need to instruct me as to how to disassemble it properly before I can determine which of the two seals is out. It happened when I was making repeated "shuttles" in gravely mud/muck.
Customer: replied 9 months ago.
I have been waiting for a response. Am I looking in the wrong place? no e-mail has appeared.
Expert:  Dan replied 9 months ago.

Hi Larry, I am not sure what happened. Sorry for the delay. Here is the parts breakdowns of your drive motor and gear box.

Expert:  Dan replied 9 months ago.

Take a look at the two diagrams and let me know from the diagrams what area the leak is. Also if you can upload a picture it will help using the paperclip icon.

Customer: replied 9 months ago.
First question: Do I leave the track in place or should I "unwrap" it? If the answer is unwrap, is there a "connector link"?
Expert:  Dan replied 9 months ago.

The track has to be separated using a track press but since most people do not have access to a press I will share a short cut where you dont have to separate the links

Expert:  Dan replied 9 months ago.

Raise and support the side you are working on, Relieve the track tension by loosening the release fitting in the track frame for the adjuster.

Expert:  Dan replied 9 months ago.

With the track tension loose you can remove the track from the sprocket like a bicycle chain.... some might prefer to remove the track pads in that area to get them out of the way so you only have the chain links to deal with. Torch the bolts and replace them on assembly

Expert:  Dan replied 9 months ago.

Remove the rear gaurds, hoses disconnected and capped.... Unbolt the drive motors

Customer: replied 9 months ago.
Thank you very much. I may be able to "wrangle" a track press from a friend. I won't be able to start on the repair for another week or so. Therefore don't expect me to reply for a while. Its still frigid here, but I may be able to get it into my heated shop in town. Bye for now.
Expert:  Dan replied 9 months ago.

Sounds good. Keep me posted

Hi Larry, did you get this resolved? I was following up with open questions so they do not get lost in the archives.
