There is an electric fuel shutoff solenoid on the injection pump. it has to have battery voltage to keep engine running. Is voltage dropping to it? Is the solenoid working?

Expert:  Curtis B. replied 10 months ago.

If solenoid s working, check the return line fitting, in the injection pump top cover, it is a check valve, and if the valve is plugged with debris , engine will start and run for just a few seconds, before the back pressure in the pump will kill engine.
