Hey I have a case 380b backhoe thing ran good however now I have an issue white smoke and loss of power now someone said a possible hole in a piston however if this was the case wouldnt there be diesel fuel in the oil..im thinking an injector issue would be more likly yes or could it be a piston or rings
You say 380B? Maybe 580B? The white smoke just means cylinder is misfiring. Loosen the injector lines one at a time as engine is running, t determine which cylinder is missing. The swap remove the injector and see if there is obvious damage, if not, swap injector with one of the good ones, and test again. If problem swaps places, the injector is bad, if not, the cylinder needs to be checked. You could have valve problem, pushrod off or broken valve spring. Or something wrong with piston. I doubt you have hole in piston, as it would have excessive crankcase pressure and would be blowing oil out the vent system.
