I can not stand to have pop-up advertisements while I am trying to compose an email, how do I stop them ?
JA: Just to clarify, what email service provider are you using?
Customer: i believe yahoo
JA: Have you installed any updates recently?
Customer: no

Are the advertisements appearing on the left or right hand side?

You can temporarily hide the ads but you will have to do it each time or you can pay for their "ad free mail" option which is $5 a month.

Take a look at the image that I am attaching and click on that arrow to close the advertisement block and you will be presented with their "ad free mail" offer.
