Hi there, I am Cris and will be glad to assist you.

I can help you retrieve the password. Can you tell me if you have Windows computer that has established WiFI connection?

If so, what operating system does it have? Windows 7, 8 or 10?

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
Chris it is a e machine. It's my mom's. It does have wi-fi

Hello????
Expert:  Cris replied 3 months ago.

In that case we can reset the router.

Can you first tell me what is the make of the router? Linksys, Netgear, Dlink?

Sorry your response took a while for me to receive.

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
Cris, not sure you got it....It is netgear
Expert:  Cris replied 3 months ago.

Do the following:

Locate the router and on the back there is a small reset button. Hold down the reset button for 20 seconds to reset it back to factory settings.

That will make the WiFi name Netgear with no password ***** connect to WiFi. If you want to setup a password, best thing to do is do to it from a PC that is connected to the router with ethernet cable.

Open a browser and in the address bar type in 192.168.0.1 or if that doesn't work 192.168.1.1

That should bring up the login prompt try these two default logins:

username: admin

password: password ***** 1234

Once you sign in click on the Wireless section and select Security type WPA. For the passkey I like to use a phone number no spaces or dashes. Makes it easy to remember.
