I am receiving an error message that my BellSouth.net email

Customer Question

I am receiving an error message that my BellSouth.net email account is not up to date. What do I need to do to update it. Have recently installed Windows 10 on my computer, does this affect my email account?
JA: Just to clarify, what's the exact make and model of your machine?
Customer: Dell with Inspiron 15 purchased in 12/13
JA: How long has this been going on? What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: About two months. Have called AT&T trying to get info on Bellsouth.net to no avail. Have tried clicking the notification when it comes up, but can't seem to find where I need to go to update this account.
JA: Anything else you want the electronics expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: I believe that will be it. Many thanks

This error often happens when you don't use SSL to secure your email account. To fix this error, use the following steps.

Please try below steps and let me know if this fixed your problem. :-

  1. Choose Settings > Manage Accounts.

  2. Choose the account that's out-of-date to display the account settings dialog.

  3. Choose Change mailbox sync settings > Advanced mailbox settings. You may have to scroll down in the dialog to see Advanced mailbox settings.

  4. Check the boxes for Require SSL for incoming email and Require SSL for outgoing email and then choose Done > Save.
