Customer: Hi, I have 3 PC's on a network but suddenly the one can't connect to the internet. Stuck on "public network" "unidentified network" I'm sure I have tried everything.
JA: Have you installed any updates recently?
Customer: No. Just switched off one night and the next morning had the problem\

It's Windows 7 SP1. All pc's are running win 7

The affected pc can't connect to the internet

OK Thank you. Click the start button and open Control Panel.

Then open Network and Sharing Center

Under View your Active Networks you'll see the name of your network and a park bench icon,

Click Public Network and a new window will open.

Select Home Network to make the change.

Thank you. Click the start button and in the search area type: rstrui

and open the search result at the top.

System Restore will open

Click Next

Put a checkmark in the Show More Restore Points box if you see it.

You should see a list of restore points.

Select the restore point just prior to this happening and click Next then Finish and run the restore.

This affects only Windows system files and not your data or programs.
