how do I erase windows 10 and go back to using windows 7 originally installed on my computer?
JA: Just to clarify, what's the make and model of your computer? What version of Windows are you running?
Customer: EliteBook 6930. I am currently using a 'free' download of windows 10.
JA: Have you installed any updates recently?
Customer: it automatically downloaded updates twice a few months ago.
JA: Anything else you want the computer expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: I just want to uninstall windows 10 and reactivate windows 7 and reinstall internet explorer.

Hello and welcome.

How long ago did you upgrade to Windows 10?

Expert:  Martin replied 9 days ago.

If you want to restore the factory settings, shut the computer down then power it back on while hitting the F11 key and it should jump into the factory restore wizard

Expert:  Martin replied 9 days ago.

Keep pressing F11 until you see that option come up

Were you able to get that screen up?

Do you have an answer?

What happened when you pressed F11?

Make sure you press it as soon as the computer is being powered on and whilst it's powering on so it takes you to the correct screen.

I tapped the button continually at startup and tried holding it down and not tapping it, but the attempts did not work.

Okay, I found a video online for you to follow - it goes through a few extra steps at the beginning to reset the BIOS settings before hitting F11:
