Customer: replied 28 days ago.
I did that yesterday to no effect.
Customer: replied 28 days ago.
According to my order history, I've paid $40. Does that mean you can now do remote access? If not, why is it this amount?
Expert:  Richard replied 28 days ago.

ok, then search for the preference dom.max_script_run_time.

Right-click on it and choose Reset.

The amount is for this question and service I am now giving you.

Remote access is an additional cost

What happens when the computer tries to start?

Customer: replied 28 days ago.
I get a blue screen that says the pc ran into a problem and needs to restart. After restarting, I get another screen called automatic repair. My options are to restart which simply repeats the process or advanced options none of which are viable.
Expert:  Richard replied 28 days ago.

ok, so it looks like a hard disk was causing this problem

Under advance options what options do you get?

Customer: replied 28 days ago.
Reset pc
Hp recovery manager
Advanced options
System restore
System image recovery
Startup repair

ok, choose system restore, choose the last restore point and tell me if it then starts please

Customer: replied 28 days ago.
System restore did not complete successfully.
Customer: replied 28 days ago.
Ok, so the restore didn't work but I have a login page that I didn't get before.
Customer: replied 28 days ago.
Still have the script problem though.
Expert:  Richard replied 28 days ago.

ok, there is hard disk issues and it is leading to this.

Do the following please to repair any corruption

Press the windows key + X and click on command prompt (admin)

A black window will open.

Type in it

sfc /scannow

press enter and when it has completed, type in

chkdsk /r

Press enter.

It will give a message "the type of the file system is NTFS cannot lock current drive.

chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use by another process. Would you like to schedule this volume to be checked the next time the system restarts y/n" Say Y, press enter and restart the computer.

Please note, while this normally only takes 10 minutes to run, it can take at times number of hours if windows encounters many issues. If this is occurring it is critical to let this complete as it means you have corruption on the hard drive that it needs to fix. Even if it looks like the scan is not progressing, it is, please just let it run to completion. Windows will then start when it has.

Then check for the issue please

Customer: replied 28 days ago.
It says I need to be an administrator running a console session in order to use the sfc utility.
Expert:  Richard replied 28 days ago.

yes you need to choose command prompt (admin)

Customer: replied 28 days ago.
It's working on it.
Expert:  Richard replied 28 days ago.

how did it go? As it an take many hours to completing depending on the issues it finds and needs to repair
