For Online Computer Support, Ask a Computer Technician
Hello and thank you for your question. I look forward to assisting you today. Is this the first attempt of trying to update to Windows 10?
How are you trying to install the update? Are you using an update disc and what version of Windows are you updating from?
Are you using a Windows CD for the upgrade?
Okay so you already have Windows 10 according to the build number. Are you just trying to install the latest updates?
Okay. The error you are seeing when you try to install the updates could be caused by your antivirus. Try turning that off or disabling it then try the updates again.
Do you have any USB devices plugged in when trying the updates? If so make sure you remove them as well.
Okay, right click on the Windows start icon and click on Command Prompt (admin).
At the prompt type sfc /scannow and wait for it to complete then restart your computer and try the updates again please.
Okay it will probably take a bit.
Okay, did you run the command from the elevated command prompt (Admin)?
Okay then try this. Restart your computer. After it restarts, right click on all of the icons running on the right side of the task bar and close those programs. Try running the command again after that and let me know please.
Okay try this. Right click taskbar, click Task Manager, click more details, click services tab, click name until you can see wuauserv, right click wuauserv, click stop. Let me know when completed.
Now open the Command Prompt (Admin) and paste this command into the prompt: netsh winhttp import proxy source=ie Restart and try your updates again and make sure no antivirus is running.
Make sure your command prompt looks like this.
Try this LINK and make sure you have the Anniversary update installed and let me know how that goes please.
Well you can try to manually download and install updates from this LINK. It might be kind of a pain but they should install. Make sure you click on only those for Windows 10.
