I connected a 22 inch viewsonic monitor to my Lenovo

Customer Question

I connected a 22 inch viewsonic monitor to my Lenovo all-in-one PC using an HDMI cable.
I have Windows 10
I want to extend the display over 2 monitors but it will only show over 1.
I've re-set the settings on my internet program for full screen, to extend over 2 monitors, but it doesn't work.
What am I doing wrong?

Hi there and welcome

First to check, the display is working on both screens but it is duplicating, not extending correct?

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
It does extend but I can't pull info from 1 screen to the other
Expert:  Richard replied 5 months ago.

ok, it may be positioned wrong

Go to your desktop, right click and choose Display Settings

Drag the monitor 2 to the right of monitor one

Save and then try to move an object from monitor one to 2

Let me know the results please.

How exactly is the screen laid out in Display Settings?

-------------

I can see you are a first time user to the site. What we do here is either a question and answer type of conversation or remote support where I would actually connect to the computer and have a look and attempt to fix the problem for you.

Remote support can save a lot of time if you are not comfortable performing repairs yourself. Sometimes even with instructions you can make a mistake and make things worse.

I will send an offer through for remote support and should you accept I will connect and see what is going on and fix the issue. Otherwise we can continue to talk like this but I will need to ask a number of other questions and try and walk you through some steps.

Both options are 100% guaranteed by the way. Remote is just quicker and avoids the risk of you making a mistake and doing something wrong.

If you want remote click get extra help. If not simply reply to me.

Thanks,

Richard
