we are finding searches(in activity history) made that neither of us made. they aren't highlighted blue like most of the searches we have done. why are they showing up and how can we stop them?( see following for examples)Searched for hotels in Rocky Mount, NC 278043:55 PM

Customer: HP laptop with windows 10, and 2 android phones
JA: Have you installed any updates recently?
Customer: probably. the computer is set up to download/ search for updates on a regular basis4

Are you using google chrome and have you logged in with your gmail account in it.

for both accounts. we normally don't use chrome, we use explorer. but on occasion have used it. if I log on to my google account at work, it is through chrome

correction, my wife's account is the primary on google and it is tied in with chrome

Okay, So when we use google account with Google Chrome then what ever search we do in any of the device be it your android or Windows laptop/PC it get's stored in your browser's history and you can then see it from anywhere.

right, got it. the problem is we have searches showing up that neither of us made

  1. Open your Google Dashboard. Make sure you are signed in to your Google Account.
  2. Click Reset sync to stop syncing and clear all of your synced data.
  3. Click OK.

Note: You only need to do this once. It will stop sync on all of your devices and remove your synced data from your Google Account. However, your data will still be available in Chrome on your device(s). If you sign in to Chrome on a device again, the data on that device will sync to your account again.
