please try the below

in the windows search box type cmd and then open the cmd option or command prompt option that comes up in the search results

a black command window will open

type any two words there separated by a space

let me know if the space bar works in the black window or not

i will suggest further accordingly

ok so if i understand this correctly, the problem of keyboards keys not working started after the windows update

there are 2 possibilities - 1. its some setting that the windows update caused the key to stop responding

2. the key itself has stopped working in which case the keyboard has to be replaced

I am considering the first point above to be the main cause as it started only after the update

so, we can restore the computer maybe 3-4 days back before the update

please note that anytime this chat page closes you can reopen it from just answer email by clicking on view answer

follow the below steps to run the restore

in the windows search box type system restore

open system restore option

select restore computer to earlier date and time

select a date before the update when spacebar was working fine and click next

just complete the onscreen prompts to finish the restore
