JA: Just to clarify, what's the exact model of your IdeaPad?
Customer: p400 touch
JA: Have you installed any updates recently?
Customer: yes, the computer stated it would update and reboot outside of normal hours, so I just agreed to do it at that time, this was yesterday

nothing it is a blank screen, earlier the name lenovo was on screen and spinning dots, but not even that now

Unplug the ac adapter if connected and make sure there is nothing connected on the usb ports.

Try to remove the battery of the laptop if this model has a detachable battery. let me know once done i will give you further steps.

no problem now while the ac adapter is out push and hold down the power button for 45 seconds and then release the button.

how press and hold down the shift key on the keyboard and do not release the shift key, push the power button to power on the computer let the shift key on the keyboard be held down till you see windows login screen.

That is strange it must display lenovo and if its not then there is a problem with the computer and we cannot blame the operating system.

Power off and wait for 30 seconds power it back on and try to get into the bios by pressing F2 or F10 whichever display comes up.

I hope AC adapter is connected when you are powering on the computer.

press ctr alt and delete keys together you will see a blue screen and at the bottom right you will see the power button icon. let me know.
