For Online Computer Support, Ask a Computer Technician
I have a DELL about 2 years old. The icons on my desktop stayed where I put them. Then I bought a larger monitor and the icons started moving around every time I saved something on the desktop etc. Today I put back my old monitor and the same thing happens. I place an icon I have about 50 icons on my desktop and I am aware this could be the issue. I am pretty tech savvy so I do not need ideas like (save stuff in folders). Please only answer if you really feel you know what is going on here? I tried changing the resolution etc. So please only answer if you have come across this issue before and know what is happening. Thanks, R
I am off to bed. Just email, if you know what is wrong
Hi, I'm Bhavik. Welcome to JustAnswer. I'm reviewing your question now, and will reply back ASAP.
Please see below document which is having a screen shot of a setting change which you need to do to fix this problem.
I am pretty sure that this will fix your problem. Please let me know how it goes after doing this fix. I would be waiting for your response.
Bhavok, no this is not the problem. I do not have auto-arrange activated. I can put the icons wherever I want. They stay for a while. But than at some point they jump somewhere else. Please refer my question to another expert. As I said, I know most of the basic stuff to try (even changing the monitor resolution), but nothing solves the problem. thanks
Alright !! I am opting out.
Good Luck !!
