I have a P400 ThinkPad. is hot bright anymore. The brightness tabs do not work.
JA: Just to clarify, what's the exact model of your ThinkPad?

JA: Have you installed any updates recently?
Customer: I don't think so. I keep getting a message to update my driver.

Power off the computer.

Power on the computer

As soon as you see tLenovoevo logo starts increasing the brightness by pressing the brightness key.

If this steps fail then, Try using the intel graphics driver from lenovo site or from the d drive of your hard drive.
