Hi. My name is***** you for your question and the opportunity to assist.

A common cause of this is your firewall is blocking the ports the program uses to communicate

over the internet. Try temporarily disabling your firewall and try the installation again.

didn't work

also the internet explorer is not working while chrome is connecting the internet
Expert:  Byron replied 30 days ago.

I believe your Internet Explorer issue is related as well. Open Internet Explorer.

Click the gear icon in the upper right corner and select Internet Options.

Click the Advanced tab in the upper right corner.

click Reset

Put a checkmark in the box labeled Delete Personal Settings

and click Reset again.

Close and re-open Internet Explorer.

Actually it is Microsoft edge, not internet explorer
Expert:  Byron replied 30 days ago.

Oh. Edge is a Windows Store app. Click in the start box and type: find and fix problems

and open the search result at the top.

On the page that opens, in the upper left, click View All

You'll see a list of troubleshooters.

Run the Windows Store Apps troubleshooter.

still doesn't work
Expert:  Byron replied 30 days ago.

What kind of error are you getting?

Customer: replied 30 days ago.
1. The mathcad installer can not be launched and the popup window says to check the internet connection but actually the connection is good.
2. the windows edge is not working. Maybe it is related to the mathcad installer. I do not really care about windows edge. As long as I can get the mathcad installed, that will be good.I just run the troubleshooter as you told me to do. I didn't work and I got this "The error code is 0x80072EFD"
Expert:  Byron replied 30 days ago.

How long have you been having this problem with Edge. The error code indicates a connection problem.

Customer: replied 30 days ago.
Probably 2 weeks
Expert:  Byron replied 30 days ago.

Right-click the start menu button and select Run

In the Run box type: rstrui and click OK.

System Restore will launch.

Click Choose a different restore point (if you see the option) and click Next.

Put a checkmark in the box labeled Show More Restore Points.

Choose a restore point older than when the problem developed

and click Next and then Finish.

This will put your Windows system files back to the state they were in on the chosen date.

This won't affect your data files.

Customer: replied 30 days ago.
I do not have restore point. Not I see the "system protection" popup window and I try to create a restore point. It asked me to type a description. What should I do?
Expert:  Byron replied 30 days ago.

Give it a description and create the restore point.

Expert:  Byron replied 30 days ago.

Click the start button and open Settings (or click the gear icon if you don't see Settings)

On the Settings page open Update & Security

what does it say under "Update Status"

Customer: replied 30 days ago.
The restore failed. I disabled the firewall and it still failed. it says "An unspecified error occurred during system resotre. (0x80070005)
Customer: replied 30 days ago.
I don't see Update & Security under settings
Expert:  Byron replied 30 days ago.

This is what the window should look like. (see attachment)

Customer: replied 30 days ago.
it says "Your device is up to date. Last checked: Today, ‏‎3:54 PM"
Expert:  Byron replied 30 days ago.

I'm not sure why that isn't working. I'm going to open your question to all the experts

to take a look at. They'll be able to see our conversation so far so you

won't have to repeat anything. You'll receive an email notification when one responds.

Customer: replied 30 days ago.
