Hi there Don and welcome

Exactly what are you trying to load the SD card into? Your computer and read it? A Camera? Or some other type of device?

Please let me know

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
trying to load to picassa on my pc.

Thanks

And you are importing photos from the SD card but it never completes this?

If so, how long have you allowed it?

And if you view the card directly via windows file manager, can you see the photos on it?

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
I have tried three different cards, some for over an hour. None complete loading. And, yes, I am trying to load and view photos in Picassa. I have beren doing this for many years. I just uploaded an upgrade to Picassa and now can't load anything.
Expert:  Richard replied 5 months ago.

ok, just to be sure have you restarted the computer?

And within which internet browser are you doing this?

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
haven't restarted computer. Am using hotmail. Will restart computer and retry now.

Thank you

Let me know the results please

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
I shut off and restarted computer and get same results as before when trying to load photos from sd card to computer, i.e. doesn't loadf. Small window appears that says, Please insert a disk into sd/mmc (G:). But I already have inserted disk. If i click concel or X it cancels search of card, so I have to remove and reinsert and then get same little window to ask me in to insert again! When I insert disk and above witndow comes up, wheel runs forever outside of that window.

Ok, if you put a different SD card into the computer, does it also do it with this?

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
same resultYes, same result

When did the problem start?

And which version of windows are you using?

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
Problem started today after I uploaded an upgrade to Picassa. Computer requested that I upgrade Picassa when I started Picassa this morning and I did so before trying to download any photos for card.

Thanks

We will do a restore to undo the upgrade as this has likely caused the issue.

To do this, close all programs.
Press the windows key + X and click on Control Panel
click System and Security
Then click on System
Then System Protection
Then System restore
Choose a date before this problem occurred.
Let it complete and tell me if it now functions correctly please

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
You instruct me to click +X key. I see the small + key and the X key. Do I clck one after the other.
Customer: replied 5 months ago.

I can also do these steps for you, and have made a request via Additional Services. This is optional, and if you choose to do this, I can, with your permission, remote into your computer while you watch and do all these steps (and deal with any problems that arise during them) for you. Or if you do not choose to take this service, we can continue here. This is no problem at all. Just let me know please.
