Hi there and welcome
This error means the computer cannot access the partition or drive containing Windows due to a loose cable or missing boot files.
Can you tell me the version of windows you have installed please?
Can you power off the Asus
Then hold SHIFT and with it held down, power it up and keep tapping F8 until you get to a menu
If it fails, try a few times as it can be tricky
Let me know if you can get to this please.
ok, on the menu choose Troubleshoot, then advance boot options, then system restore
Choose the last restore point, let this complete and when it has, tell me if it now functions correctly please
ok, what options do you have?
ok, choose Enable Safe Mode please
If windows loads it will load with no internet and look strange but thats ok, just tell me if it loads into this please
ok, power it off.
Power it on and keep tapping F9 until you get to the recovery manager
Can you get to this?
It is the internal motherboard or hard drive that has faulted, this now confirms it.
I am really sorry about this and you are going to have to return the Asus to have a diagnostics performed and the component replaced (when they confirm which of the two). It will be covered by the warranty if this has not expired, and the replacement will be done at no cost to you.
I am really sorry about this, and if you have problems, or would like any additional information or assistance, please do not hesitate to let me know.
And if you can take a second to rate my service by clicking one of the stars at the top of the page, then submit, that would be greatly appreciated.
yes that's no problem, if its the hard drive the repair is not too expensive (around $100) but if it is the motherboard, get a pricing first before agreeing to it as the cost can exceed the value of the Asus.
If you would like any additional information or assistance, please do not hesitate to let me know.
