its a Security measure.

If you can swipe the card.....then your fine......but if your entering in the info into a computer......a CVV is ALWAYS required since the Federal law was enacted.

well, some websites are not PCI compliant (credit card compliant) which means they might take it.

They might also not sne dyou what you bought either. They are nefarious.

If they are PCI compliant, a CVV is required.

All major, and even most minor retailors are PCI compliant, they have to be to, to operate in the USA.
