Hi there and welcome
Can you please remove the power cable to the Thinkpad then hold the power button down for 60 seconds then release.
Then connect the power cable, power it on and tell me if it then starts correctly please.
Ok, I see I did Not, you mean you did the instructions but still it will not start?
Just need to check please.
Which version of windows is it running?
ok, they have both different procedures, but we try both depending on which one you have
Power off the computer then power it on and keep tapping F8 until you get to a menu
If that does not work, repeat but hold SHIFT and then keep tapping F8 when powering it on
Either of these procedures get you to a menu?
ok, on the bottom is a reset hole like in this picture
Click me to open
Remove the power adapter and still with it on, remove the ac power adapter and reset the system by inserting a straightened paper clip into the emergency reset hole for 4 seconds then release
Once done connect the adapter, and then try to power it on
Let me know the results please
It is the motherboard that has faulted, likely the chipset or Bios
I am really sorry about this and you are going to have to return the computer to have this replaced. It will be covered by the warranty if this has not expired, and the replacement will be done at no cost to you.
