Hi George! My name is***** am a computer professional with over 15 years of experience with both Mac and Windows computers, phones, tablets, and printers. It would be my pleasure to assist you with this. There may be a much easier way to restore your contacts, photos, and other data to your phone. If you had iCloud turned on (which is the default), then your information should be available to you at www.icloud.com. Please click that link and login in with your apple id (usually your email address) and your password. Once you've logged in please click on the folders to see what is in each one.
If your data is there, then all you need to do to have it flow back to your phone, is to setup your phone with the same email Apple account that it had before and then tap settings and icloud. Make sure all options are selected under icloud and that you are connected to a wifi network. It may take a bit, but all the information from the cloud will eventually flow to your phone.
You can get all of your apps music back by going to the APP store and tapping on update at the bottom of the screen. Next tap the right arrow next to PURCHASES and tap MY PURCHASES. Tap NOT ON THIS PHONE and tap the cloud beside each app that you'd like to install.
