Customer Question

Hi, I have a Windows Server 2012 with Hardware RAID.
The Hardware won't work right since yesterday.
I decided to buy a new Fujitsu Server to use them without RAID because I don't Need it anymore.
Now I restored the backup by Acronis to the new HDD on the new Server.
But the Server won't start. I can see shortly press F2 to enter Setup F12 to select boot device. If I select the boot device I don't get an error message or something else. It only restarts and Show me for a second the page with F12 again.
Do you can help me?

Can you tell me what error message you get?

Was the back up of the old server a full back-up? (Including the system state)?

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
Hi Kristopher,I got no error message. I only get the BIOS Screen (first Screen if you start a Computer), this is been showing for one second. Than the Server restarts automatically. The Backup was a full volume backup.Regards,

Are you sure it included the system state, by the sounds of it, it did not hence why you cannot boot into the OS.

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
Hi,yes, it's a complete Volume Backup with all Windows Files, Settings - it's a double of the original HDD.Is it possible that there is a Setting in BIOS which is blocking the start?Because before I load the backup the Server showed me a message that there is no OS to can be loaded.Regards,

It could be - is secure boot disabled in the new BIOS?

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
Secure boot was disabled I activated it, but now it jumps directly to bios after the restart.

You could install server from disk and see If it boots

this would rule out the back-up

I don't have a CD or Key, it was a complete system.
I will call an it specialist tomorrow to get assistance here.
