ok,

Click start, computer and go to C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download and delete all the files that are in the folder (but don't delete the folder itself).

Then go to this link and manually run the upgrade

https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows10

Tell me if it then updates please

Customer: replied 9 months ago.
Richard, i clean the C:\windows\softwareDistributiom\download.
I try to install the windows, and i have de sane error 0xc7700112
And now ?
Expert:  Richard replied 9 months ago.

delete files from folder again

Then

Click Start, All Programs, Accessories, right click on Command Prompt and select Run As Administrator.

A black window will open.

Type in it

sfc /scannow

press enter and when it has completed, type in

chkdsk /r

Press enter.

It will give a message "the type of the file system is NTFS cannot lock current drive.

chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use by another process. Would you like to schedule this volume to be checked the next time the system restarts y/n" Say Y, press enter and restart the computer.

Please note, while this normally only takes 10 minutes to run, it can take at times number of hours if windows encounters many issues. If this is occurring it is critical to let this complete as it means you have corruption on the hard drive that it needs to fix. Even if it looks like the scan is not progressing, it is, please just let it run to completion. Windows will then start when it has.

Then run install from my link please

Expert:  Richard replied 9 months ago.

ok, you will need to do a reinstallation of windows and upgrade it from this.

What is the brand of your computer?

Customer: replied 9 months ago.
My computer is a HP EliteBook 8440p
Expert:  Richard replied 9 months ago.

ok, first you will need to backup your files off the computer as this will remove all files and return the computer to new (programs you need to install again)

Then once done, power off the computer

Power it on and keep tapping F11 until you get to the recovery manager

Choose to do a factory restore

Let this complete so windows is loaded and once done, then before copying your files or installing your programs, update to windows 10 and it should now update

Let me know please how you go
