For Online Computer Support, Ask a Computer Technician
Hi Jerry, my name is ***** ***** I'll be happy to help you with this!
Do you by chance know the exact make and model of your computer?
Sure, the monthly plan is optional. As long as you did not sign up for it, then there will be no additional charges.
Let me run a check on that model number you gave me and see if I can find anything.
Jerry, by chance is that an m8430f as n Frank, instead of m84301?
Do this for me:
Hold down the Windows key (two keys to the left of the spacebar) and press the R key. This should bring up your Run box in the lower left corner. In the box, type in msinfo32 and press OK.
This should bring up a new window with a lot of information. On the left-hand column, pretty close to the top, you should see System Model. Let me know what that says.
Jerry, you still with me?
Hi again Jerry, I just saw that you made it back.
Yes, go ahead and try to find the model for me in MSINFO32.
Jerry, did I lose you again?
So what we need to find out are whether or not Windows 7 drivers exist for your machine. If you're not aware, the drivers are the software which tell Windows how to work with your hardware.
If the drivers don't exist, upgrading would not be possible because some of your hardware would not work.
Okay Jerry, still with me?
Jerry, since we keep getting disconnected, would you prefer if we did a phone call? It's a Premium Service, but I could offer it for the minimum amount of $5.
Did I lose you again?
Jerry, here's the last response I sent you and I didn't get anything in return:
Well I'll be able to provide you an answer one way or the other, i.e. whether you are able to upgrade or not. If you accept the phone call offer then you'd be agreeing to the charges because I only get paid for my time and expertise if you agree to the charges. Would you like me to send the phone call offer?
Sure, I will send over the refund request.
