Hi my name is ***** ***** I will be the expert working with you today to help and resolve the problem you have posted.

I am sorry to know that you are facing a problem booting up your computer.

did it happen after the computer fell?

Try to get into the bios and let me know if you can see the hard drive listed in there or not.

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
I can't get into the bios...the screen is there for a few seconds and I press the f key for bios repeatedly and nothing happens
Customer: replied 10 months ago.
After it fell , before I shut it off, the mouse and keyboard not working. Screen frozen. Both are in 2.0 ports
Expert:  Michelle replied 10 months ago.

you have to try to get in as the screen stays for few seconds and the moves on.

Shut down the computer wait for 10 seconds power it on and then keep tapping the F2key or F10 or Del which ever key it shows at the bottom to enter setup. Setup is basically the Bios.

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
I chose securely connect...no response when I hit repeatedly delete (which is for setup on this pc
Expert:  Michelle replied 10 months ago.

Try F2 and then F10 the initial screen displays which button to press to enter setup at the bottom left hand side of your screen.

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
No that's not doing anything euther. Can you do remote assistance
Expert:  Michelle replied 10 months ago.

remote assistance can only be done when the computer is booted to windows platform.

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
Oh ok
Expert:  Michelle replied 10 months ago.

is this a custom built pc or its a branded pc?

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
If the keyboard isn't interacting is there something else I can do.should it go in a different port
Expert:  Michelle replied 10 months ago.

yes unplug and connect it to a different usb port and then try.

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
No that's not either
Expert:  Michelle replied 10 months ago.

when you turn on the computer what screen comes up on the screen first?

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
It's the one that's says detecting ide drives. That's the only screen.
Customer: replied 10 months ago.
But it's only there a few seconds so I can't read everything and then it goes black
Customer: replied 10 months ago.
Any other ideas?
Customer: replied 10 months ago.
Loose wire with DVD drive?
Expert:  Michelle replied 10 months ago.

open the tower and check the sata cables and the power as well on the dvd as well as the hdd.

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
Not sure I can do that now
Customer: replied 10 months ago.
Tired and I don't want to short anything
Expert:  Michelle replied 10 months ago.

unplug the power cable and then open the side panel try to open the left one.

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
Sorry wifi off for a secomd.ok no side panel
Expert:  Michelle replied 10 months ago.

somebody has to open the pc to check the cable for sata and power its quite possible that it has come out of its slot.

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
Ok I'm thinking that. I can open through the back. Are the insides pretty much the same? Difficult you reach the cable and slot from the back?
Customer: replied 10 months ago.
Wait I think I see how the side panel comes off. Please remind me what I have to do to make sure I don't have static charge on me
Expert:  Michelle replied 10 months ago.

you will locate the unlocking screws at the back itself check the screws and open the panel

Expert:  Michelle replied 10 months ago.

unplug the ac power cable from the computer and the monitor and then open the side panel.

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
Screws are out but can't get it to lift. Need to use a tool? Don't want to break anything
Customer: replied 10 months ago.

Expert:  Michelle replied 10 months ago.
Customer: replied 10 months ago.

Expert:  Michelle replied 10 months ago.

Customer: replied 10 months ago.

Expert:  Michelle replied 10 months ago.

Customer: replied 10 months ago.

Customer: replied 10 months ago.

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
Is that from the dvd drive?
Customer: replied 10 months ago.
where does it get plugged in
Expert:  Michelle replied 10 months ago.

the connector which has 1yellow 2black and 1 red is the power cable for the hdd and the dvd

the blue one is the sata cable unplug them from hdd and the motherboard and replug it back make sure it connected fine and then power on the pc let the cover be open.

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
But where does the dvd power cable go into?
Expert:  Michelle replied 10 months ago.

dvd power cable is also same as hdd power connector.

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
But it's not plugged into anything. What do i plug it into
Customer: replied 10 months ago.
Does it go into one of these..the thing with all the pins
Customer: replied 10 months ago.
I should say again the had is not plugged into anythjng. That is how I found it. What's it supposed to plug into...the thing in the pic I just sent?
Expert:  Michelle replied 10 months ago.

make sure sata 1 and 1 is connected 0 to the hdd and 1 to the dvd

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
I honestly don't understand what you mean.. the data cables were plugged in all along to motherboard and dvd drive. They were never loose, though I did unplug and plug in to be sure. It's this dvd cable that's just hanging around. What do i insert it into? I don't see anything that shape that looks like it would take it. You have an picture of what it goes into
Customer: replied 10 months ago.
The last picture I sent ...is that what I insert the hdd into? The thing with all the pins.
Customer: replied 10 months ago.
I mean that's the only thing the hdd fito intp. Says sata 2 under one of them. Nothing under the other. Which do i pick
Customer: replied 10 months ago.
Oh it says ide under one of them...so plug into that one?
Customer: replied 10 months ago.
