Although I bought Mc Affee protection on the 2nd May 2016 I

Although I bought Mc Affee protection on the 2nd May 2016 I cannot get it to download and I keep getting irritating messages telling me that my computer is not protected but I also get messages telling me from McAffee telling me that the protection is working. What is my position?
