My father is able to receive emails on his Outlook but

Customer Question

My father is able to receive emails on his Outlook but whenever he sends emails he gets "This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification.Delivery to the following recipients failed".
JA: How long has this been an issue?
Customer: 3 or 4 days
JA: Tell me a bit more about what's going on so he can help you best.
Customer: I logged into his Outlook from my computer and am able to send fine.
JA: Is there anything else important you think the Computer Technician should know?
Customer: It must be a setting on his computer
JA: OK. Got it. I'm sending you to a secure page on JustAnswer so you can place the $5 fully-refundable deposit now. While you're filling out that form, I'll tell the Computer Technician about your situation and then connect you two.

I am not at his house and won't be later. I can email you from his account from my laptop but I don't think that's what you need. Cheers

OK. Please let me know later when you are at his house. Thank you,

As I said, I won't be at his house. I just need advice on what he can check.

It can be complicated. It's easier for me to troubleshot the issue directly on his computer directly. For now, I can provide a suggestion. What's his Microsoft Office / Outlook version, such as 2003, 2007, 2010, 2013, etc.?Can you try removing his email account in Outlook, then re-add it, and check? Please let me know. Thank you,
Customer: replied 6 months ago.
By deleting and re adding, will he lose his email history ?
Expert:  Viet - Computer Tech replied 6 months ago.
What email does he use, such as Hotmail, Yahoo, Gmail, AOL, etc.? Does he use POP or IMAP in Outlook program? Please let me know. Thank you,
Expert:  Viet - Computer Tech replied 6 months ago.
Also, when you log into his Outlook on your computer, do you see all his email history there? If yes, then you can delete / re-add and all his email history will stay. Please let me know. Thank you,
