My son received a Thinkpad to use starting the school year

Customer Question

My son received a Thinkpad to use starting the school year in Sept. 2015.
During the last 2 weeks it has been acting up more and more.
It started "freezing up" at random times. Then he would try to access files that he had created on Google and used sometimes several times a day, but words would be missing. Then one file completely blanked out and was inaccessable, then two files.
Would this problem be covered under a warranty and how do we get it fixed?

This type of issue is common in failing machines and, as it's less than a year old, may still be under warranty. Before you go through that process though, I would like to take a look at the machine remotely to determine if it's really a hardware issue or a software issue.

Do you have the machine with you?
