Customer: replied 8 months ago.

Expert:  Cody replied 8 months ago.
Is it windows 8 you have?
Customer: replied 8 months ago.
yes, on the asus.
Expert:  Cody replied 8 months ago.
do you have a product key listed on computer? If not we'll need to download Windows 10; https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=4A371EAD38577DC4!29151&authkey=!AKt-zq968udb3IQ&ithint=file%2ciso
Customer: replied 8 months ago.

Expert:  Cody replied 8 months ago.

Customer: replied 8 months ago.

Customer: replied 8 months ago.

Expert:  Cody replied 8 months ago.

Customer: replied 8 months ago.
update: 9 minutes remaining on download
Customer: replied 8 months ago.

Expert:  Cody replied 8 months ago.
see here http://lifehacker.com/251758/mac-tip--how-to-burn-an-iso-or-dmg-file-to-disc
Customer: replied 8 months ago.
i am trying to follow the directions but when i open disk utility it does not let me drag and drop the .iso file into the left side bar nor is there a burn option
Customer: replied 8 months ago.
OPTIARC DVD RW AD-5690H Media this is the name of the disk btw
Customer: replied 8 months ago.
my options are all unaccessible and only include first aid, partition, erase, mount, and info
Customer: replied 8 months ago.
you know what, i just right clicked it and it gave me the option to burn to disk, so i am doing that
Customer: replied 8 months ago.
it said burn disk image to disc so thats what i selected
Expert:  Cody replied 8 months ago.
ok that sounds right
Customer: replied 8 months ago.
okay, it is almost done writing the track to the dvd, what is the next step?
Expert:  Cody replied 8 months ago.
put it in the desktop and boot from it to install Windows
Customer: replied 8 months ago.
okay, just so you know that my only options on the asus laptop are troubleshoot tools including: refresh your pc (does not work), reset your pc (does not work), and the advanced options including: system restore, system image recovery, automatic repair, command prompt, UEFI Firmware settings, and startup settings.
Customer: replied 8 months ago.
okay disc finally finished verifying, now i am putting into the asus
Customer: replied 8 months ago.
disc is reading
Customer: replied 8 months ago.
okay, disc finished reading...nothing happened, do i need to enter a command prompt?
Expert:  Cody replied 8 months ago.
should boot from dvd if it burned correctly
Customer: replied 8 months ago.
currently, i am rebooting computer with disc inside to see if that helps.
Customer: replied 8 months ago.
"diagnosing your pc"
Expert:  Cody replied 8 months ago.
restart and press F12 repeatedly then choose cd/dvd
Customer: replied 8 months ago.
pressing F12 still lead to this message"automatic repair couldn't repair your pc... Press advanced options to try other options to repair your pc or ""shut down"" to turn off your pc. log file: C:\\WINDOWS\System32\Logfiles\Srt|SrtTrail.txt
Customer: replied 8 months ago.
my options from this screen are to shut down or advanced options
Expert:  Cody replied 8 months ago.
its not booting from the dvd then, it may not have been burned correctly. I honestly don't know how the process works on a mac. Is there a Windows PC you can burn it from... something you can borrow or use some one else's temporarily.
Customer: replied 8 months ago.
no i do not, the only other windows based computer we have does not have a burner on it because it is a company laptop
Customer: replied 8 months ago.
is there a way i can check whether the file burned correctly?
Expert:  Cody replied 8 months ago.
you can insert it into your laptop to see if it will boot from it
