Hi there and welcome William

Are any lights showing or do you hear any fans when trying to start the Laptop?

Please let me know

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
Fans start and also DVD drive starts with lights no hard drive lights or other lights
Expert:  Richard replied 10 months ago.

Thanks

Did you recently dissemble it before this problem started? Or open it up?

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
Fans start slowly then pick up speed in time

no problem started seems like after SMB bus driver was installed via Driver Booster Pro. however when I did manage to get it started I noticed Clock and Date where out of whack. So I opened unit and Replaced CMOS Battery. Existing CMOS battery was swollen.
Expert:  Richard replied 10 months ago.

Ok, if the battery was swollen it indicates power issues where occurring.

Even removing the SMB Bus would not cause this issue, as it will always revert to the windows one.

I do though advise against Driver Booster as its not worth it.

Do you have the model with a removable battery?

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
Expert:  Richard replied 10 months ago.

ok, remove the battery and the power cable.

Then hold the power button down for 60 seconds then release.

Connect the battery and power cable and try to turn on the Laptop and tell me what now happens please.

samething
Expert:  Richard replied 10 months ago.

ok, open it up again and look for any capacitors that are bulging or burnt out, like this

Even a slight bulge

Let me know if you see anything please.

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
ok i'll check for that. the problem started but I was able to start after a while but steadily got worse as time went by
Expert:  Richard replied 10 months ago.

yes, thats an indication of a faulting capacitor that finally blue.

This problem is hardware, this is for sure, we just need to try and track it down

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
OK Richard I'll check it out and let you know thanks again
