Hello and thank you for choosing JUSTANSWER.com

.

What OS did you UPGRADE from?

.

Was it WIndows 7, or Windows 8?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I believe that I had windows 7
Expert:  Quiksilver07070 replied 1 year ago.

For windows 7 upgrade to Windows 10:

.

The upgrade puts all of the files from the Windows 7, in a folder called Windows.old

.

IN this folder will be all the files you had on Windows 7. Do not delete it.....or they will be gone forever.

.

However, you DO want to copy the files FROM the windows.old folder, as quickly as possible to an external hard drive.....or back them up SOMEWHERE!

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I don't find anything in file manager called windows.old

Are you logged into Windows 10, as a TEMPORARY PROFILE?

.

Go to Settings > Accounts > Sync your settings. If you’re signed in with a temporary profile, you’ll see a message at the top that says You are logged on with a temporary profile. Roaming options are currently unavailable.
