My new Asus laptop is overwhelmed with malware, constantly

Customer Question

My new Asus laptop is overwhelmed with malware, constantly trying to get me to buy Microsoft programs. The McAfee virus protection that came with the computer did not stop the programs from downloading. Trying to get rid of them by blocking access with the most restrictive firewall and virus protection settings stopped them from downloading but I'm constantly being asked to allow or block them. Now I can no longer connect to the internet. How do I get my new computer to work again?

Hello and thank you for your question, I look forward to assisting you today. First download and install MalWareBytes. You will most likely need to download it to a USB flash drive and install it from that. When you install it, run a scan and delete everything it finds. That should take care of most of the malware.

I will take it somewhere else for service.

Refund?
Expert:  Dan replied 1 year ago.

That is certainly your choice but it will cost you a lot more. If you just run the program I suggested, you will have it back up and running in a short amount of time.
