Hi,

Welcome to Justanswer. What is the laptop model number?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Asus laptop no model number seen
Expert:  active1065 replied 1 year ago.

Click the bottom-left Start button on desktop, type device manager in the search box and tap Device Manager on the menu. Get into device manager and update the driver on the ELAN device, don't let it search automatically .

just set it as a generic PS/2 mouse

Let me know if that works for you.

Customer: replied 12 months ago.
I am using windows 10 64 bit, just upgraded from windows 8
Expert:  active1065 replied 12 months ago.

Ok. First, you need to download and install the latest version of asus smart gesture from http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/Apps_for_Win10/SmartGesture/SmartGesture_Win10_64_VER4012.zip

If everything is fine, you should see ASUS Touchpad in Device Manager.

else download and reinstall the ATK driver first from http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/Apps_for_Win10/ATKPackage/ATKPackage_Win10_64_VER100041.zip and then reinstall the asus smart gesture.

Let me know if it woks for you.

Regards,

Paul
