Hi and welcome.

Expert:  A. Stevens replied 1 year ago.

To recover your desktop you'll need to run the System Restore utility on your PC. I will provide instructions to do that here.

If you can take a second to rate my service by clicking one of the stars at the top of the screen then submit, that would be greatly appreciated.

To restore system files and settings using a recommended restore point

  1. Open System Restore by clicking the Start button . In the search box, type System Restore, and then, in the list of results, click System Restore.‍ If you're prompted for an administrator password ***** confirmation, type the password ***** provide confirmation.

  2. Click Recommended restore, and then click Next.

If there isn't a recommended restore point, follow the steps below to choose a specific restore point.

  3. Review the restore point, and then click Finish.
