Customer Question

when logging in to my computer I get a message to say preparing windows (which I didn't get previously) and a notification on the bottom right screen saying I have been issued with a temporary profile which does not allow access to my files and most start icons have disappeared. It appears that the computer does not recognize me as administrator.

You have a corrupt profile, you will need to login as another user.

Rename old profile folder and in registry; then you'll be able to login as normal again.

Instructions here, or we can do a remote session and I can do this for you: http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/how-to/windows/how-fix-corrupt-user-profile-in-windows-7-3495216/
