I have a portable hard drive that will not open and is asking for me to re-format it. Is there any way to get the information off of this hard drive?

Basically i want you to click start button on the bottom left of your screen. and choose run. Type cmd and press enter.

going back to my computer it is now showing as Local Disk (L)
