Installed download 10 but Settings Menu won't display, and I

Installed download for windows 10 but Settings Menu won't display, and I can not run Maintenance or install Windows downloads. Was running windows 8.1- Display and personalization settings/options still their but can't select individual themes. (stuck in compilation mode).
How can I re-install Windows 10 Home, as I cannot find windows 10 download saved anywhere on my Computer?
Perhaps their is another fix I can try first?

you have to remove and reinstall the display adapter from the device manager. After you remove the display adapter reboot the computer and it will reinstall the driver automatically.

What happens when you try to remove.

Device manager gives me option to remove 2277.9 kb of data from Disc clean up or scan for hardware changes or properties. No option to remove Display adaptor settings on their own. Scanning for changes doesn't bring up anything?
