Hello. My name is ***** ***** I will be assisting you today.

Is the power light blinking or the monitor going off/on?
If this is a laptop, unplug the power cable and take the battery out for about 30 seconds. Plug everything back in and power it on.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
ok...1 min
where is the battery
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I know where my HP battery is but the ASUS...do not see, do I need to take it apart somehow
Expert:  Cody replied 1 year ago.

No shouldn't need to take apart, do you know the model of it?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.

power light is not blinking, just monitor
Expert:  Cody replied 1 year ago.

Looks like that model has battery inside so you can't remove it. Just blinking between like black and white?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
no...it is on the start up screen, I see my screen saver blinking over and over...I cannot get to control panel, was going to go to factory settings
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Why can I not remove it
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Are you still with me?
Expert:  Cody replied 1 year ago.

I'm here, you could remove it however think of it like an iphone where you have to take everything apart. I think you would be better letting the battery go all the way dead and then plugging the power cable in.

However if it's booted up and you can navigate through it, this may be a hardware issue with the monitor itself.

Expert:  Cody replied 1 year ago.

Are you able to get out to the Internet with the monitor going off/on?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
is there a removable battery inside?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
No, cannot do anything
Expert:  Cody replied 1 year ago.

Somewhere yes. It's not going to be very easy tho.
What's the serial number do you know, it may be under warranty still?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I think it is, I just wanted to see if I could do it myself...do you know how many numbers it has
Expert:  Cody replied 1 year ago.

I don't know how many characters, should be on a sticker on bottom of laptop somewhere tho.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I see numbers with 12 and then that has a "n" in front of four numbers
Expert:  Cody replied 1 year ago.

Let me know all of it, I can prob figure it out.

There is more numbers around the barcode, but they are so small
Expert:  Cody replied 1 year ago.

Yep below barcode is what we need.

  1. Please check the base of your notebook for sticker label. (10 characters)
  2. The serial number is ***** directly below the barcode after the word “SN:”.

Says October 13, but doesn't specify if that's the end of warranty or the start of it.

Do you have an extra monitor we could plug into?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I have an HP Laptop
Expert:  Cody replied 1 year ago.

That won't work, we would need an external monitor. Or like a hdmi cable to plug into a tv to use as a monitor.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I have that
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I have it hooked up
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I can video it
Expert:  Cody replied 1 year ago.

You can see the screen now? Are you able to get out to Internet? If so we can do a remote session to determine if it's a software/hardware issue.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Are you talking about using the ASUS to a HDMI cord to my TV???...Right
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I am helpless still
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Not going to work
Expert:  Cody replied 1 year ago.

Yeah that's what I was referring to. This maybe an issue where you need someone to look at it in person, and have them repair the screen if it is hardware issue.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
owell...do I still have to pay the whole $45 and then I see I got charged another $5
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
or $42
Expert:  Cody replied 1 year ago.

I will pass it up the chain and tell them your request.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
you can have some though...thx
