I have Windows 7. My computer would not start and has been running Startup Repair for the last four hours. Is taht normal and how long will it take to finish the task?

The startup wi dow is showing saying attempting repair it has been like that since 6 am ESt.

There select SAFE mode and ENTER

There try to do perform system restore to previous date when the computer was free of error .

No Try to power off -- F8 -- and SAFE mode again Same process and then

turn off System Restore for all but my main drive (drive C, the one with Windows 7).

To do this go to Control Panel > System & Security > System > System Protection (in left column) > System Properties "System Protection" Tab.

Then again try system restore by Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore.

Try this then Start Menu >>Right click Computer >>Properties>>System Protection

There you can turn off protection for all drives except C drive
