Thank you. Can you please press at the same time the two keys Fn and F8 on the keyboard in order to enable / disable the touchpad.

If that does not work,

  1. Click on Windows Start Button

  2. Go to Control Panel

  3. Choose Hardware and Sound

  4. Choose Mouse

  5. A pop up screen of Mouse Properties

  6. Choose UltraNav tab or ThinkPad tab

  7. Enable the TouchPad option there.

Did you try Fn and F8 key?

Look at all the keys at the top, F1 to F12, check for any icon that has the touchpad icon, then use Fn with that key to see if it can enable / disable the touchpad.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Once I took the external mouse out no change.

None have the touchpad icon.
Expert:  Viet - Computer Tech replied 1 year ago.

Which key(s) have the touchpad icon?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
None
Expert:  Viet - Computer Tech replied 1 year ago.

None of the keys at the top: F1 F2 F3 F4 F5 F6 F7 F8 F9 F10 F11 F12 ?

Please try this: click Start->All programs->Accessories->System Tools->System Restore and restore the computer to any date before this issue has occurred, and check. Thank you.

I know you are trying, but this did not work and also lost my Norton that had all my passwords saved. I can no longer get into the sites I need to.
Expert:  Viet - Computer Tech replied 1 year ago.

I'm really sorry, you can reinstall Norton and reset the passwords you need. The touchpad hardware could be bad, but can you try reinstalling the touchpad driver at the website below:

Please let me know. Thank you.
