I'm sorry about the issue. Is this a new computer? Or was there any update or change recently to your computer that may have caused this issue?
Can you please click on the Apple logo / menu, then click on About this Mac, then tell me the Mac OS X version, i.e., 10.6, 10.7, 10.8, 10.9, etc.?
What is the error or message when installing the scanner software CD disk?
